smile

The very last August Break picture and I'm feeling quite sorry it's over. Taking a pic every day of a subject not chosen by me was more challenging and tiring than I thought but very inspiring too, thanks to Susannah Conway for organising it. This one is a bit of fun to end the month!

These always make me smile when I see them and remind me of wonderful family holidays in Portugal.

Jump

I don't know who jumps most when I walk in the room . . .

Paisley

I apologise if you've seen this before but I've just spent the weekend in a tent - in the cold and rain and realistically I don't have time to do something new. I did have fun though!

Friendship

Your help in overcoming my 'stuckness' has been just what I needed. Even just the thought of a cycle ride in the countryside sent me into raptures - playing with and walking my dog is the best thing I can ever do, I'm investigating spoonflower  and definitely switching off my computer more.
Again & again I come back to Keri Smith for inspiration - I just love her rebel's manifesto.
Thank you all for your friendship - it means a lot.

I'm seeing eyes everywhere

I looked round and found these trees watching me....
Scary!

Confined

I cannot believe this snow and ice has confined us to the house for nearly a week. The house is gleaming, ironing all done, cakes baked, soup made and in the freezer but ... if I don't go out soon I may go mad! On the upside My Jack Russell's been having a great time.

Camping

The weekword is Camping and I hope I haven't given everyone terrible difficulties with this word. It's my birthday today and I did consider spending the night under canvas but I'm a fair weather camper and the forecast was for rain. Last week we had our first camping expedition for years and I have recent memories of the very very hard ground making it impossible to sleep, even on my sunbed mattress. If I go again I definitely need more equipment such as an airbed, oh and a toilet! Also My Jack Russell would not get in the tent and when we eventually did get him in, 3 of us in such close proximity was claustrophobic and hot. So a 6 man tent would be good too, preferably a tepee that we could stand up in, not have to crawl around on our hands & knees.
Having said all that, we did have a great time, collecting wood, lighting the camp fire, singing, laughing, eating, drinking and in the morning cooking bacon & eggs out in the open countryside was just wonderful.
I will pick the next person to choose the weekword later tonight - I'm off now to do some celebrating!
I'm picking Caroline to choose the next weekword.

Hectic

What a hectic and varied week this has been: camping, birthday celebrations, festival going, golden wedding celebrations, family get togethers, walks, shopping - apart from the usual working, cooking, cleaning, washing, gardening . . . I've been asked to choose the weekword, which is CAMPING. If you would like to participate in this, let me know, and on Friday post your drawings, photos, stories, poems, paintings or whatever you choose, to your blog and I will do a link to it. Can't wait to see the results.

Eau de fox

No need for words here - it's his favourite pastime and I have to let him have a bit of fun sometimes!

Chasing squirrels

We've been having fun chasing squirrels this morning, My Jack Russell and I. Running through the crispy Autumn leaves in the cemetery to try and catch one. He has never caught a squirrel yet, the nearest he's come to it was when he chased one up a tree - it lost its footing and fell back down on top of him. I don't know who was the more startled the squirrel, MJR or me but the squirrel's instincts were the fastest and it quickly recovered and escaped back up the tree!
