Blues and reds
Here is the past few weeks in pictures. Walking on the South Downs and enjoying beautiful landscapes, Alfie modelling his new coat, managing to fit in some drawing and Alfie and I having a lovely cuddle.

smile
The very last August Break picture and I'm feeling quite sorry it's over. Taking a pic every day of a subject not chosen by me was more challenging and tiring than I thought but very inspiring too, thanks to Susannah Conway for organising it. This one is a bit of fun to end the month!

Stop and stare 17
Murmuration -I love this word used for a collection of starlings. We finally went to Brighton at dusk to see them flying over West Pier. Unfortunately the light was not good enough to get a photograph of the thousands that eventually gathered, this was just the start. Everyone was stopping to stare as they danced round and round in the most beautiful formations, it was very moving. We stayed until it was so cold My Jack Russell was shivering and we had to go home. There were many other interesting sights too.

Rare Brands
I've been asked by retro furniture company Steel Magnolias to provide prints for their new range of frames. They're exhibiting at the Rare Brands Market this Friday 7th and Saturday 8th at the Corn Exchange in Brighton. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, maybe see you there!

Brighton
Away from the natural for a change, these Brighton shop fronts fascinate me and there's always a dog or two to spot. Little Spindle (three down on left) was not really for sale or I would have bought him. He sat for hours on his owners stall in the weird and wonderful 'Emporium' while dressed up in various outfits.

Winter sun
Beautiful sunshine on a late afternoon walk to the harbour.Went to Brighton last night to see Randy Crawford, she has the most beautiful voice I think I've ever heard (apart from JoJo that is!). We took my Mum and Dad, as we first listened to Randy while on holiday with them in the South of France many years ago - the evening brought back lovely memories. This second blog of the day is for my Dad as he was complaining that I hadn't done one for December yet and I've missed Illustration Friday this week too!!

Stop and stare 4

We went to Brighton last night to see Nouvelle Vague and there opposite the Pavilion, was a huge upside down purple cow. It's a 396 seater venue being used for some of the Brighton Festival events and was initially launched at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006. It's becoming quite famous - understandably so - it's not everyday you come across such a spectacular purple sight - that's the height of 7.5 elephants, 4 double decker buses or 14 cows standing on top of each other. I wonder what little purple cow will make of it.
