I walked around Old Portsmouth for the first time the other day and saw lots of interesting things - I liked it, which I didn't expect to do.

My August in pictures

The August Break

I've long been a fan of Susannah Conway but have never participated in one of her August Breaks. 
The idea is to take a photo every day and publish them on your blog or instagram.
This August I'm struggling with family illness and my beloved JRT has been quite poorly (read 2 sleepless nights this week) but luckily he seems to be on the mend now. 
When I become anxious about too many things my personal creativity comes to a standstill - so the August Break has happened at the right time for me - Susannah has even provided a prompt word for each day. I'm not promising a photo every day - but you never know!

paint effects

More paint effects found on boat bottoms! It's the time of year when the boats are brought into dry dock to be cleaned and painted - a massive task. So before that happens I get my camera out and I'm in my element!

Perspective

Sometimes it's good to look at things with a new perspective. For this illustration and for propagate I've used textural photos as a background for my drawings.

Bad hair day

My Dad sent me some old family photos the other day.
I laughed when I saw this - me a few months old!
I still have trouble with my hair sometimes.
