My allotment is packed with all these different squash this year which is very strange. For the past 2 years I've grown butternut squash which I love, I've collected the seeds from them and grown them from these seeds, which is what I did this year. So I was more than surprised when no butternut squash grew - only all these weird and wonderful varieties. Apparently, as I've now found out, if you keep using the collected seed, they revert back to their source as they are a hybrid. So I'm laden down with all these fascinating shapes and colours but not sure if they're edible!

Great illo! I like your line work and shapes, and the colours are wonderful!
this is lovely the colors and lines are beautiful
Pretty illustration. I like the tale of gardening, too. I had no idea that would happen when you planted the seeds. Interesting!
This is one of my favorites, what a gorgeous design. This would be perfect hanging in my kitchen! :)
Hey tell your partner that if I can do the lasik, he can DEFINITELY do it...I'm the biggest baby in the world with NO pain tolerance, and if I could take it, he can TOTALLY do it! He will love it if he decides to get it, I don't regret it for one second! Although I was more sentimentally attached to my glasses than I originally thought :)
Fantastic piece. I really love this and it's so autumn. Your story is quite interesting too. Be curious as to how tasty these are, if edible.
Beautiful work. Love your drawing style.
It's a very fresh piece.
Loving this well colour composition piece.
Simple and c/w clean & neat layout but ended with unusual great end result! Simply beautiful:)
This piece lifts my soul--what beautiful variety in patterns, colors, and shapes. And wonderful that this piece was so personally inspired!
Oh this is great!
Love your colors, patterns and renderings of all the details...
Also I learned something. I'm going to do the same and plant some squashes from squashes.
Pack of info here :) Best to you!
Charming and slightly menacing as they seem to be advancing toward the viewer. Inspires me to be bolder with color combos.
wow! that was interesting! nice one, i love the colors! thanks for dropping by my blog!:)
beautiful piece, nicky! i love fall squash and gourds, regardless of whether they're edible or not. they're so colorful and no two ever look the same - just as you've painted them here. did you keep your brushes out of your coffee for this one? :)
Very cool design. Perfect for the theme and the season!

What a fabulous surprise for your garden!!! Butternut squashes are yummy, but this brilliant collection is just priceless. And you got an excellent piece of art from them to boot!
I heard something similar about apples. Apples grown from seed will be bitter and small. All the apples we get at the store come from grafted trees. Imagine! They all came from just a few original apple trees!
Very nice work. Beautifully done!
Gorgeous!! Really beautiful lines and colors.
Wonderful illust. Fantastic colours and line work.
Beautifull drawing!!!
