New Year

A relaxing Christmas - renewed love of Jenga - Alfie loves his new bed - Bill relaxing and having a run and one of the highlights - the lovely bread we made during a master-baking class from Gra. And below - can't get enough of looking at trees especially in the Winter - late afternoon skies and a frosty windscreen.

New Year

Already 3 good things have happened this year ...

I'm so proud of my niece Alice - her painting was recently exhibited at the prestigious
Pallant House Gallery in Chichester.

It stopped raining, the sun came out and ...

I baked my first successful loaf of bread. Finally an edible loaf that was not so heavy it could have been used as a door stop! I hope your 2013 is off to a good start.

Equipment

I think this speaks for itself. I've added the recipe as Gra makes the very best bread, so this is worth a try!

Slow Sunday

A couple of years ago I bought the book 'In Praise of Slow' by Carl Honoré which had a real impact on me. It's all about slowing down in our hectic world and savouring the moment rather than thinking about what you are going to do next. Making time for each other - slow food, slow cities, slow sex.

July 27th celebrates the first Slow Sunday in Britain where we are urged to bake bread and help save the planet, to garden, to walk, to paint, to read ... whatever.

Today we're going for a swim, Gray's made the bread and later I will lay the table in the garden and we'll sit and sloooowly eat a leisurely meal of home grown vegetables and enjoy a cold bottle of rosé. Who knows what will happen then! What are you doing today?
