Firework fury

I don't often have a rant but I want to know why . . .

I can't buy a beer and drink it on the street in my town

I can't walk my dog on the beach in summer

I can't own a television without having a license

and yet . . .

I can buy hundreds of pounds worth of explosives and let them off late at night.

For every evening of the past week, fireworks have been going off at all hours of the night terrifying My Jack Russell and leaving him cowering and shaking under the bed and there's still 2 weeks to go until November 5th. Why can't the sale of fireworks be banned to individuals leaving organised displays only? From now until the New Year we have to put up with this outrage . . . I'll say no more.

I'd also like to rant.....

How about drivers spending excessive hours on the road and causing injury to innocent parties....

Whose fault is it anyway? The driver? The company employing him? The company who gave the contract to his company?

Does everything come down to money?

Hi, I found your blog through browsing IF. Love your style and sense of colour. I couldn't agree more about the fireworks. I have 2cats and they are always petrified by fireworks. I could put up with them for a week but for some reason they start about a month before Guy Fawkes day and go on until the New Year as you mentioned. Most people seem to enjoy the ones that make the most noise too, rather than the quiet and pretty ones. I think they are very dangerous and should only be available by license to organised displays. I have never been able to understand why people like to burn their money. Personally I would rather buy a good book...lol. Anyway, happy blogging.
