Busy

I've been busy with work lately so here's a pictorial update of what I've been up to.

I visited West Dean Gardens - it's so inspiring there - I must go more often with my sketchbook.

I've been doing housework - as you can see Finn is very settled - when I change the bed he always snuggles into the washing pile!

I had a birthday and a lovely long weekend of dinner in the Horseguard's Inn, a day walk at Firle Beacon, a picnic and visit to Goodwood Sculpture Park and an afternoon in Arundel to go around the art trail and have afternoon tea .... phew!!!!

scattered

I would love to have the kind of garden that looked as if I'd just 'scattered' a packet of seeds around but I think this is harder to achieve than it seems!
This illustration was inspired by the planting at Arundel Castle.

Arundel Castle Gardens

We visited these gardens a while ago on a hot and sunny day. They are very rich and sumptuous - designed 3 years ago in the Jacobean style, well worth a visit.

Secret Garden

I was invited to see Julie's garden last week. It was wild and beautiful - one of those gardens that look effortlessly natural but you know it's all down to hard work! Click on the picture for a better view.

More giants

Had a lovely afternoon on Sunday walking around this dreamy garden, amongst these giant wire animals by Julian Broad. (I can't find a link to him unfortunately).

Climbing

I would love to be able to commission Patrick Blanc to create a vertical garden on my house, then I would have plants climbing all over the walls.
