Hear

Day 24 of the August Break is hear. My Jack Russell's hearing suddenly went a year or so ago, the only consolation being he is no longer terrified on bonfire night or frightened by thunder and lightening. He used to cower under the bed - a pitiful sight. I really miss talking to him though and getting a reaction, it's also difficult to let him off the lead as I can't call him back, he just trots along, faster and faster until I have to run and catch him.

What a beautiful pooch! And photo:-)

My 18 y-o cat has also gone deaf and like you I can think of advantages and otherwise. Like, I can hoover around him while he's sleeping and he no longer runs away. On the downside, I have to wave my arms like a clown to attract his attention!

Hello Nicky
While looking at pictures of Bill,
I found this double comment I left a while back. My cat too died (in Feb, aged 19) and he also became very ill suddenly so didn't suffer long.

I loved your photos of Bill; he had those cute slanted eyes that would have made my whole family melt and stop to talk if we'd met him on one of his walks. You captured his character well also in your text.
