An old illustration today showing my interpretation of one of the 4 elements - EARTH - you can read about the classical elements here. I always feel connected to earth as an element although my astrological sign would be associated with fire. I like to feel solidity and strength, a link with Mother Earth. I love the soil and growing things and feel happiest when my feet are planted firmly on the ground walking through beautiful woodland!

Lovely illustration. I like the simpleness of it.
I'm pleasantly puzzled by this illustration because which line is ground-level? It seems to have two levels or it shows a world inside Earth. I see 3 snails and a few earthworms, one is entering the picture from the outside world. Very cleverly done.
To me this is a happy, complex illustration that makes you study the worlds depicted for some time and gives you a pleasant terra-cotta feel due to its colour.
Happy New Year to you Nicky!
May you have lots of hours walking in the woodlands.

That is absolutely beautiful--- your "design" is fantastic!!!
this is a beautifull illustration!!
Lovely! The use of a single color gives it a nice screen-printed or woodcut quality.
This is perfect for the topic. It has a very solid, "grounded" feel to it. And I love the earthy color you chose.
Lovely work Nicky! Beautifully clean and simple print effect with all the elements of design within! Do you still have your allotment?
Very nice, very grounded! :))
No Caroline - I had to give it up through lack of time but I still grow some fruit & veg in my garden.
I really like this, just lovely.
Lovely illustration. I particularly like the snails, which says something to me about taking things SLOWly and not just rushing about. PS Your woods-walk for New Year's sounds lovely, but I have to confess that I do not like the idea of walking in the "wild" at night here. I am afraid of snakes, scorpions and muggers!
What a lovely piece. I really like the snails, too! I know what you mean about being outdoors and enjoying nature.
Very beautiful and pleasing and soothing with all its lovely swirls. Plus, it's my favorite color. :) And whoa, your Highlight painting is gorgeous!
Happy New Year, Nicky!
Love the use of white and one colour. great composition too, like the snail at the top.
I love your interpretation of things. This is fabulous!
Thank you ~
