Print & Pattern

It's been a long time from my designs being selected to feature in the fantastic Print & Pattern book to actually having the published book in my hot little hand but well worth the wait! If you love pattern you'll love this book.

Propagate

The strange but beautiful Tulipa acuminata is no longer found in its natural habitat (Turkey). It has been propagated and kept going as a species since the early 1700s - quite amazing

Bad hair day

My Dad sent me some old family photos the other day.
I laughed when I saw this - me a few months old!
I still have trouble with my hair sometimes.

I can't wait for some warmer weather. The winter has been cold and long this year and it looks like we are due some more snow. On the up side the landscapes have been stunning and I've been inspired by trees and hedgerows against pale grey skies. I'm giving away a print of my 'chattering birds' image so if you want to enter the draw please leave a comment here. To create this illustration I used a photo of the hedge - top left (below) and turned it into a black and white image which I then coloured and I gave it an outline too. I used my wren drawings in some summery colours and placed them in the hedgerow.
