The subject matter on Illustration Friday this week is 'Homage'. So I'm paying homage to Zandra Rhodes. As far as I can remember she is the first artist/designer to truly inspire me, many years ago.
It's hard to work when you've got a jack russell wedged behind your back. We call him Reggie the wedgie when he does this, it's usually on a cold morning & he's seeking warmth. I sometimes wish I was a dog in a good home!
The subject this week on IF is 'Pet Peeves' - I don't have many and thought I would give it a miss, however while walking on the beach I noticed so much rubbish around. I collected a few things that caught my eye and I must admit I was selective about this. My collection was based around colour, shape and pattern - there is beauty in rubbish. So here is my illustration based on my pet peeve - rubbish on the beach.
On Saturday I went to have a drink with a friend whose birthday it was. As the room filled up with women, the noise level rose to fever pitch. It sounded like an aviary full of birds. I had to laugh.
My illustration for IF this week is my doodle to Foo Fighters, One by One. The subject is heavy so I found the heaviest CD in our collection to doodle to! It is quite unlike my usual stuff and I'm not sure that I like it but that's not the point really - I'm experimenting and doing drawings I wouldn't normally do.
I knew it was coming up but I can't believe I've missed it by a day. My blog was one year old yesterday - I started on 5th March 2007! I do sometimes wonder why I'm doing this but the actual task of it has inspired me and I'm definitely becoming more creative. I read the following daily and do so respect the amount of work and the generosity of spirit that it takes to produce blogs of this standard.
