Nature's decoration

I meant to post this at Christmas as it looked just like this tree had been decorated amongst the bare woodland.

    Gorgeous! Are those apples? I've never seen them on a bare tree. Persimmons grow like that where I live, but not apples...

    They just appear to be apples, I should have really picked one but it was a bit overgrown. I've seen a lot of similar trees this year.
