Nicky - This is SO fantastic. Thank you for sharing both...I must say, the first drew me right in. I think I tend to need to see line since my eyesight is so rotten..but the second just intrigues me - it's like looking through layers of glass (I know that sounds weird) but it's a good thing...I find it very cool to be able to discover all that each layer reveals. Beautiful work, as usual, Nicky!!
How fun to see it both ways! Such a difference, and they are both wonderful. Without the lines, it looks like beautiful mosaic. But I also love seeing all the detail of the petals and the centers. Poppies, YAY! Gorgeous colors.
And thank you so much for your comment. I'm embarrassed to admit, I had to google Arthur Rackham. But when I did, I was amazed! Wow, what beautiful work!
I like the one with the line drawing. They're both gorgeous, but the line drawing brings it all together and brings depth to the illo. Would make a great print!
this is beautiful. I love your style and color palette! Great designs too.
ReplyDeletedefinitely with, it's one of the things that drew me to it, I love the centers of the flowers and the bees
ReplyDeleteThey're both beautiful, I can't decide!
ReplyDeletewith the lines! it adds just the right finish without being overdone. nicky, you amaze me!!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the one with the lines--it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm voting for 'with' - though they're both great - good job
ReplyDeletei also vote for the line drawing - very vera 70s.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors! I find the abstraction of colors only intriguing!
ReplyDeleteThese are both lovely - although I have a tendency of leaning towards using dark outlines.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the one without the lines, so beautiful!!!!!!!!! It so different really really like it aloought!
ReplyDeletewow...this is gorgeous - I love your work! Just stunning and the colors are perfect. I lean towards the version with the lines. ♥
ReplyDeleteWith lines. I think the other one is too scattered, but I love the top one.

Both are great in their own way, but I prefer 'with line' as I always love the black centres of poppies.
ReplyDeleteLovely work...
i'm a big fan of lines. however, the patterning in the lineless one is rather wonderful... i can see that image repeating, repeating, repeating
